Turning features recognition

Furthermore, feedback is needed to understand the actual interest in this feature so that I can focus or not on the development of one functionality over another.

Overview


This feature allows for the recognition and automated addition of turning operations from 3D model.


From menu > Feature recognition .

Feature scanner


Click on drop down menu item [Scan Features] .

Turn ON the [Turning features] option.

Choose between 2 turning strategy :

  • Both side cycle . The system will try to use 2 setup logic , separating the feature between 2 opposed setup direction.
  • Cut-off cycle . The system will try to set all the feature from a single direction. A cutoff operation will be added at the end.

Enable or not the drilling recognition option.


Click on [Start features extraction] button to elaborat the 3D model.

After features scan processing, it will available all the features extracted from the component model.

Each feature profile is highlighted with a differen color.

Press [Generate !] to create operations


All the feature will be converted in actual machining operations and setup.

You can see already the modelled stock.


You can use the Tool Summary report to review tool selection and cutting data in one place.


Further improvement will be done based on users interest and feedback.
