Profile Offset Area

For the "Contourn" and "Pocket" machining , it's possible to define an area to be machined starting from a profile and defined offset value.

See this pocket machining area.

If for some reasons I want to machine not the complete area but only an offseted area near the selected profile I can define the offset like this.

Click on options button near the selected profile [1] and click on "Define offset profile" [2]

Then enable "Profile Offset" [3] , keep "Closed Side" [4] and set 15mm as offset value [5].

Be sure to have a tool with a diameter smaller then 15mm, in this case.

With "Closed side" mode you will have the area is closed between the outer and inner profiles. Similar to OR seat if your selected profile is a circle.

Also the finishing operation will process both the original profile and the offset generated profile.

If instead you select the "Open Side" option, the machined area will be like this, the machined area is not closed from one side.

Also the finishing operation will process only the original profile.
